Glenn Miller dominated popular music during 1939 to 1942. He was one of the most popular bandleaders in the US and of the swing era. In 1939 Glenn Miller scored 17 top ten hits, in 1940 31 top ten hits, and in 1941 Miller scored another 11 top ten hits. Again in 1942, he scored 11 top ten hits and a third straight year ranking as the years top recording artist.
